Are you attending the Global Formation Event?  It's not too late, register

We have an amazing line up of presenters coming to our synod on Friday &
Saturday, Oct. 2 - 3  (beginning Friday at 2 p.m. and ending Saturday at
5:30 - optional dinner following.)  This ELCA training event will be held at
Living Word Lutheran Church  in Katy, TX - check out speakers:

Registration for both days is only $35 and scholarships are still available.

GMF 2009 ArtOctober 4 - GLOBAL MISSION FESTIVAL at Living Word in Katy

Please join us on Sunday, October 4 from 2 until 6:30 p.m., for Living
Word's 6th Annual Global Mission Festival.  We will have a multi-cultural
worship service with special guest speaker, Leonard Sweet, a noted author,
preacher and professor of evangelism.  Also included is a fair trade arts
and crafts sale, ethnic foods, great world music, mission ministry
information, games and an afternoon of fellowship and fun!  If you would

October 4, 2009 ~ Student Immersion Trip to Peru Information Meeting -
Congregations are invited to send representatives to an Informational
Meeting from 4-4:45pm Peru header.jpgon Sunday, October 4th during the
Global Missions Festival at Living Word in Katy to hear more about this
exciting opportunity for high school students (those enrolled in 9-12th in
the 2009-2010 school year) and adult leaders in your congregation.  In July
2010, congregations will have the chance to send 3 students and 2 adults on
an immersion trip to Peru where our focus will be learning about Peruvian
culture and history, building relationships with the people in our companion
synod and growing in our own faith in Jesus Christ.  Right now, the
estimated cost is $2,000 per person plus the cost of your airfare.
Registration will officially open on Monday, October 5th.  Questions,
