Share YOUR Gifts on an LYO Ministry Team!  Beginning on Monday, April 14th
the LYO Ministry Team Application for the 2008-2009 Gathering Season will be
available online at  <http://www.soggyshoes.org> www.soggyshoes.org.  We are
looking for students and adults who want to grow in their faith and gifts by
serving on one of FIVE ministry teams that plan and execute our Jr. High and
Sr. High Gatherings.  Contact Jessica Noonan, LYO Ministry Coordinator at

ELCA Youth Gathering "Getting Ready Meetings" - In 2009, the ELCA Youth
Gathering is going to embark on a new adventure with a brand new purpose for
this event - compassionate justice!  This life-changing event will happen
for only one week when 36,000 youth and adults gather July 22-26, 2009 in
New Orleans.  Registration packets should be reaching the congregations by
the end of April.

 

To help your congregation prepare for this event, we are asking pastors,
youth ministers, and key adult sr. high leaders from congregations attend in
one of four Getting Ready Meetings happening around the synod.  The dates
and times are as follows:

 

April 20                 Grace New Orleans from 2-4pm

April 27                 New Life in Pearland, TX from 2-4pm

May 4                    Kinsmen in Houston, TX from 2-4pm

May 18                 Camp Lutherhill in La Grange, TX from 2-4pm

 

Jessica Noonan will be serving as your synod coordinator for the
Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod and is here to answer your questions
regarding the gathering AND to help your congregation prepare for this

Reveal:  Youth Worker Training

August 22-24, 2008

Camp Lutherhill and the TX-LA Gulf Coast Synod are partnering together to
bring an amazing youth worker training to the area!  This is a time for
adults who work with jr. high and sr. high students to come for a weekend of
renewal and training at Camp Lutherhill.  We encourage your congregation to
think about sending all adults who work with the above age groups for
quality training that will only enhance the ministry happening in your
church.  Save the date on your calendars, because registration will open for
this event by the end of April!  Keep your eyes on
