[Second_site] Have you signed up for a LYO Ministry Team?

The LYO partners with God through Serving, Training, Equipping, Empowering &
Praying

So that youth and adults discover their gifts in order to minister to the
world!

 

The Lutheran Youth Organization of the TX-LA Gulf Coast Synod is looking for
adults and high school students to serve on one of five gift-based ministry
teams:

1.      Artistic & Visual Design - responsible for space design, lighting
and staging

2.      Peer Life - Peer ministers, hospitality, evening activities 

3.      SALT - Small group leaders (must be entering 11th grade or older)

4.      Servant Life - Organize hotel based service opportunities at Jr.
High and community projects for Sr.  High

5.      Worship Design - plan, lead and arrange worship and music for the
gathering

 

These cross-generational teams serve congregations in this synod by planning
and executing the Jr. High Gathering and Sr. High Community of Service.

All team members are required to attend the Ministry Team Leadership
Retreat, August 15-17, 2008 at Lutherhill in LaGrange, Texas.  Registration
for this event will be opening very soon!

 

Adult team members (post high school individuals 18 and older) must attend
LYO Adult Training.  See below for dates:

 

*	Louisiana Training ~ Saturday, July 26, 2008 from 10:00 am - 12:00
pm (Louisiana area Congregation)
*	Houston Training ~ Saturday, August 2, 2008 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
(Houston area Congregation)

 

LYO Parent Informational!  This time will serve to connect parents with LYO
leaders and give insight into the mission, vision and expectations of the
organization.  The Louisiana Parent Informational will be on Saturday, July
26, 2008 and the Houston Parent Informational will be on Saturday, August 2,
2008.  Both sessions will last from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
