Wednesday, March 18 Deadline to apply for Disaster Recovery Grant
Opportunity -

Our synod has received financial support from all over the country following
Hurricane Gustav and Ike. Our priorities have been to support our pastors
and congregations as they serve their neighborhoods. In the last 5 months
we have responded to needs as they have come our way. At this point there
is $50,000 remaining in our disaster fund which we want to make available to
congregations with hurricane-related needs, through a granting process.

Grants will range from $1,000 to $3,000 per congregation and are designed to
address unfunded repairs that are vital to the ministry of the congregation
OR to reimburse congregations where repairs have already been made, but
insurance did not provide adequate coverage or deductibles were very high.
Apply by completing the one-page Disaster Grant Request Form (click here
<http://www.gulfcoastsynod.org/downloads.htm> ) and returning it to our
office by Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Requests will be reviewed and
disbursements will be made by the end of March.
