Mission Clusters

This email is intended for those persons who are giving leadership in congregations of our Gulf Coast Synod. 

When you take a look at the attachment you will notice the listing of our 128 congregations and worshiping communities. The congregations are grouped into 13 mission clusters of approximately 8-13 congregations. Across from the name of the congregation is a number. That number represents the cluster your congregation has been grouped with. (NOTE: Clusters are different from Deanery and Ministerium).

These mission clusters will be part of the work of our Synod in what is called "re-rooting". We will talk more about that at the Theological Conference and in the months ahead.

What we need you to do is to take a look to see if your congregation is in the right group. Is your congregation clustered with other congregations that are similar geographically and in context? If you think that your congregation would be better yoked with another mission cluster please let it be known.
